journal

There is so much more to Mikki Auld Hairdressing than the passion we have for our craft. We are a representation of the places we’ve been, the people we’ve met along the way and the inspirations that have shaped and essentially created us. Our journal is a curation of all these things and more. This is a place that houses a collection of our favourite things; sustainable design, wellbeing, film and art. Here you will find interviews with local and like-minded creatives, beauty and trend forecasters as well as self-love edits and the occasional how to guide. If you think we have a little more than a bit in common and would like to feature on our journal please get in touch, we would love to chat.

Christmas is one of our favourite times of the year here in the salon. We love the festive cheer, the celebratory energy and yes, we even love the Christmas carols. At Home with Settler Hives

And yet, since 2013, in parts of the world, the bee population has fallen by a third – a phenomena known as colony collapse disorder. Thankfully, Toowoomba locals Hayley and Roger Mason have stepped up to the mark with the creation of their business Settler Hives – beautifully branded, high quality seeds with the aim of regenerating the bee population.

Self-Care Ritual: Dry Body Brushing

Now that we’ve transitioned into Spring, we thought what better way to begin our self-care segment than to do a feature on the ancient beauty ritual of dry body brushing.
