There is so much more to Mikki Auld Hairdressing than the passion we have for our craft. We are a representation of the places we’ve been, the people we’ve met along the way and the inspirations that have shaped and essentially created us. Our journal is a curation of all these things and more. This is a place that houses a collection of our favourite things; sustainable design, wellbeing, film and art. Here you will find interviews with local and like-minded creatives, beauty and trend forecasters as well as self-love edits and the occasional how to guide. If you think we have a little more than a bit in common and would like to feature on our journal please get in touch, we would love to chat.

Sarah Lamkin // International Women's Week Series I

We sat down with our very own ‘french-girl-bob’ queen, Sarah to chat about what being a woman means on a spiritual level, how she got to where she is today and the best advice she has received all in the name of our very own International Women’s Week celebration.

What is your favourite part about being a woman?

Existing as a daughter, sister, aunty, girlfriend and one day mother

What is the best advice you have received?

Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love

What does international women’s day mean to you?

A day of reflection and celebration for how far we as women have come, and how much more we will continue to push towards creating a wider gender balanced world.

reflection and celebration for how far we as women have come, and how much more we will continue to push towards creating a wider gender balanced world.

What do you do for a living and how did you get to where you are?

I’m a technical designer at Spell and Co-own a lingerie brand ‘Miyako Official’ with my dear friend Charlotte. 4 years of uni, endless internships, a lot of hard work and a obsession for vintage nighties lead me here!

If you could change one thing to make the world a better place, what would it be?

Equality for all. It baffles me in this day and age that globally, we still aren't treating everyone fair and equal, wether that be gender, race or sexual orientation.
